For an open roof we tarp it to keep water out. That is the priority — everything else can be done properly afterwards.
We go over the whole roof and the attic in daylight, photograph everything and tell you what actually failed, not just where it leaked.

Before we arrive
Move what you can out from under the leak and put a bucket down. If a ceiling is bulging with trapped water, a small hole at the low point drains it in a controlled way instead of letting it collapse. If water is anywhere near light fixtures or outlets, cut the power to that circuit. Do not go up on a wet or storm-damaged roof yourself.
